Classifications and Qualifications for Membership

The qualifications for membership in the following classifications of the Association of International Graduate Admissions Consultants are:

ORGANIZATIONAL MEMBERS
Organizational members shall consist of organizations whose company or a portion of their company represent graduate admissions consultants who have an interest in the purpose and objective of the corporation and who meet any additional requirements for Organization membership as may be imposed by the Board from time to time.

Organizational membership is based on the number of active graduate admissions consultants (full- or part-time) in your organization.

To facilitate your membership in our organization, please keep in mind that AIGAC is an organization that places central importance on ethics in general and transparency in particular. Please review our Principles (https://aigac.org/about/principles/) before submitting your application. When reviewing applications we are particularly concerned with the following:

Consistent fact-based information regarding your application information. For example, your resume, LinkedIn profile, and company website should provide consistent information about yourself and your organization including all other admissions consultants.
No ambiguity with respect to the fact that you don't ghostwrite clients' essays.
While we believe in having strong relationships with graduate programs, such relationships have to be non-compensated. If you are compensated by schools for placing candidates, that is a direct violation of our principles.

Our membership committee looks for overall public transparency on your website, LinkedIn page, and other public forums with regard to your organization's consulting members, services offered, and results.

Affiliate Member - $325.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: April 1st No automatically recurring payments Professionals in fields related to graduate admissions who support the stated mission and Principles of Good Practices of the Association but are not providing direct admissions advice. Affiliate members are non-voting members.

Individual Consultant (No Company Affiliation) - $395.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: April 1st No automatically recurring payments An Individual Consultant Member is joining AIGAC in their capacity as an admissions consultant who meets are professional criteria for entry. They are not joining on behalf of an Organization and hence are not Organization members. This membership category is specifically designed for those who work for non-AIGAC member organizations and are not the owners or principals of such organizations and/or those who wish to join AIGAC independently from any AIGAC organization that they maybe associated with.

Individuals applying in this category must meet the following criteria:
• Not be a member of or contract with a firm that has been denied membership or had a governance action taken against them which resulted in the removal from AIGAC
• Not be an owner, partner, principal, and / or in a leadership position of a medium or large organization
• Directly interact with clients to provide admissions advice
• Are compensated for providing admissions advice
• Hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution
• Have 24 consecutive months of work experience in graduate admissions consulting
• Served a minimum of 15 clients
• Uphold all of the principles that AIGAC represents.

Large Organization - $1,650.00 (USD) Bundle (unlimited) Subscription period: 1 year, on: April 1st No automatically recurring payments This membership is for large organizations of 6+ consultants.
Graduate admissions consultants are defined as those who meet the following criteria:
• Directly interact with clients to provide admissions advice
• Are compensated for providing admissions advice
• Hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution
• Have 24 consecutive months of work experience in graduate admissions consulting
• Served a minimum of 15 clients
• Uphold all of the principles that AIGAC represents.

Medium Organization - $795.00 (USD) Bundle (up to 5 members) Subscription period: 1 year, on: April 1st No automatically recurring payments This member is for Medium Organizations of 2-5 consultants.
Graduate admissions consultants are defined as those who meet the following criteria:
• Directly interact with clients to provide admissions advice
• Are compensated for providing admissions advice
• Hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution
• Have 24 consecutive months of work experience in graduate admissions consulting
• Served a minimum of 15 clients
• Uphold all of the principles that AIGAC represents.

Small Organization - $395.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: April 1st No automatically recurring payments This member is for small organizations with only 1 consultant.
Graduate admissions consultants are defined as those who meet the following criteria:
• Directly interact with clients to provide admissions advice
• Are compensated for providing admissions advice
• Hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution
• Have 24 consecutive months of work experience in graduate admissions consulting
• Served a minimum of 15 clients
• Uphold all of the principles that AIGAC represents.

ADMISSION OF MEMBERS
Applicants shall be admitted to membership on making application therefore in writing, upon payment of first annual dues, and upon approval of the AIGAC Board of Directors

** One full year of dues is paid upon joining and a pro-rated amount will be due for the following year. For example, if you join in July, the entire annual dues amount for that membership category is due, but for the following year you will be invoiced for only 50% of the dues amount for that year since you received only six months of benefits when you joined as a new member, mid-year, at the full rate. Subsequent years will be billed at the regular amount. Annual dues are non-refundable upon acceptance to AIGAC.

AIGAC reserves the right to deny admission to anyone.
